Berserkers were Norse warriors that fought in a trance like fury. Jo (Go) Berserk!

My birth date is 6th of the 6th. I would have added another 6 for luck if I could.
What was your proudest roller derby moment?
Just gradually improving and getting rostered for North Cs and sub for Hinnies.
How did you first discover roller derby / what convinced you to join?
Many close friends had joined and it just become infectious. I can’t believe I left it so long. It’s a massive part of my life now. Love it.
What have you learned from roller derby?
Learning your own strength and ability to change and grow. Whilst also seeing the individual strength of each player is amazing. The ethos and community of the league just solidifies it all!
What other sports / training do you do when you’re not on eight wheels?
Capoeira, Single track mountain biking, hiking and training through HIIT circuits and weights when I can. A few of those have fallen by the wayside.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get involved with their local team?
Go watch a match and get hooked! Try out with the new intake training with your local league even if you haven’t skated since school discos and can only just move forwards (Like I did). Ask questions, get involved and start the gym.
