It is with great regret and disappointment Newcastle Roller Derby must announce that in light of the safety concerns surrounding Covid-19, we are postponing EuroClash until a later date. As safety is the primary concern, and after multiple dropouts for this reason, this is a clear sign to us that it is the responsible thing to do. (Our friends at Brussels and Oslo have already had to cancel due to travel bans in their countries.)
We can appreciate how frustrating this decision will be for some, and are grateful for everyone’s effort in working towards making this what would have been an amazing event. (And still will be down the road!)
As we start to move forward with the practical implications of postponing EuroClash, such as ticket refunds, etc., we will keep everyone posted. Please watch this space.
Thank you to everyone for your support in this. As sad as we are to have to make this decision, we know it is the right one.
Newcastle Roller Girls served us well for 10 wonderful years but our new name better reflects who we are: a diverse league of strong and athletic skaters, officials, and coaches.
We are Newcastle Roller Derby

Thinking of starting roller derby? I can help!
I was in your skates in January 2018, so I’m here to offer some advice and guidance to make this as fun and rewarding as possible. This is a longer post – but totally worth the read! Continue reading New Skater Intake 2020 – everything you need to know!
Come and learn how to play roller derby with Newcastle Roller Girls! Our 15 week course starts on Sunday 2 February 2020.
This is our beginner’s course for anyone who fancies a go at playing roller derby. You don’t need any experience at all, not even in roller skating – as long as you can stand up on skates, we’ll teach you the rest!
