2013’s first fresh meat intake is coming soon!

It’s been a long time coming, and you’ve been waiting patiently, so we’re thrilled to announce that the first fresh meat intake of 2013 is pencilled in for the end of February. We’re still unable to give you an exact start date as we’re waiting for confirmation from the venue but now is the time to get down to those roller discos or brave the January air and get skating outside in preparation! Remember, you have to be able to skate to join a Newcastle Roller Girls newbie intake. You don’t need to be as awesome as our Canny Belters by any means but if you can’t skate from one side of a sports hall to another we’ll have to ask you to come back next time.

Sessions will run on a Sunday morning, 10.30am – 12.30pm at the Walker Activity Dome, NE6 3BR.  All other information will be confirmed and announced via this website, our Facebook (keep your eyes peeled for an event you can join!) and Twitter as soon as the date of the first session is confirmed.

Can’t wait to skate with you!

Hinnies make history in Yorkshire

The Hinnies made history today by taking part in the last home open bout in 2012 which uses minor penalties.

Hinnies took the win against Bruising Banditas, rounding off an AMAZING year for the team with a 9 out of 10 win record.

Final score 86-195 – Hinnies win

The last minor penalty was a cut track on Hinny Torvile & Scream, by Tyne and Fear skater and referee Dark Matter.

Belters and Tyne and fear concede at Once Upon A Tyne

In an action packed doubled headliner bout, the Belters took on Hot Wheel Roller Derby from West Yorkshire and Tyne and Fear took on Lincolnshire Rolling Thunder.

With some solid walls and hard hitting blockers, HWRD took the win over the Belters 303-53 in a hard fought game. The Belters never gave up and give as good as they got though! Well done Hotties.

Next up merby!

Tyne and Fear and Lincolnshire Rolling Thunder both went into this game undefeated in full length bouts. Tyne and Fear only previously having been beaten at Euro Men’s Champs over the summer.

Lincolnshire took the win 214-172 in a super close game.
